The token of the Impacts Economy

The IXO token is used within the IXO infrastructure to pay for services, make decisions about the network, and reward users for their contributions. It's essential for accessing and using the platform's tools for creating and managing projects that have a positive impact on the world.

Transaction Fees

Use IXO tokens as gas to process on-chain transactions and access connected blockchains via Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC). Because ixo acts as a routing hub in the multi-chain Internet of Impacts, the IXO token extends its payment utility across a broad ecosystem of services.

Network Security

Stake IXO tokens to secure the ixo blockchain through a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (dPoS) mechanism. In return for bonding tokens, participants earn newly minted IXO generated by the networkʼs inflation system. This alignment of incentives protects the network from Sybil attacks and maintains reliable validator operations.

Governance (Network & DAOs)

Propose and vote on network-level changes by depositing IXO tokens, which helps deter spam proposals. If a proposal fails, the deposit is burned. Any DAO created on ixo can also adopt IXO as its governance token for voting deposits, unifying decisionmaking across the Internet of Impacts.

Oracle & Service Fees

Pay for Impact Oracle services using IXO or stablecoins, enabling automated claim verification, data enrichment, and digital asset issuance. A platform fee is distributed to the Impact Relayer that originated the service and to the Internet of Impacts DAO, fueling sustainable growth.

Staking for Services & Liquidity

Lock IXO tokens into service contracts to prepay or guarantee services such as data hosting, identity verification, or listing projects. Tokens can also be supplied as collateral in Automated Market-Maker pools, earning fees for liquidity provision and supporting seamless token swaps.

Impact Staking & Rewards

Receive additional IXO rewards for retiring eligible Impact Credits (for example, Carbon Credits) and meeting regenerative finance objectives. Holding minimum stakes of IXO may further grant membership privileges, preferential service rates, or access to exclusive offers across the Internet of Impacts.
